We seek to provide Rescue, Recovery and Restoration in Jesus’ Name.
Our Ministry operates through three core components – Rescue, Recovery, and Restoration – focusing on reaching individuals in crisis, treating them with respect and dignity, and guiding them towards healthy, productive lives.
Our Mission
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. As a nondenominational ministry, we meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, invest in their future, and help them until they can move forward.
We’re more than a shelter.
Men’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program
Offers a transformative, 9-month residential journey, completely free of charge. The goal is to empower men to overcome addiction and build a healthier, substance-free life.
Women’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program
Provides a 6-month residential recovery program for mothers and infants, with an optional 6-month transitional stay. Ultimately, Abba’s House will equip mothers with tools for a life free from substance abuse.
We are here to change lives.
In the heart of Western North Carolina, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has been a pillar of sanctuary and change for those battling homelessness and addiction. For over 43 years, our doors have remained open, our tables full, and our hearts ready to serve.
Our upcoming Events
Good Friday Foot Care Clinic
On March 29, we will be following in the footsteps of Jesus and washing the feet of our homeless brothers and sisters and providing them with new footwear.
Easter Dinner
Come celebrate the Risen King with us! We will be throwing an extra special dinner for our clients with decorations, restaurant-style service, gifts, and most importantly the love of Christ!
Community Partner Event
Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler, NC, is bringing back the unforgettable Carry Your Cross 5K. Experience the unique challenge of carrying a 4ft 2×4 across your back for the race’s final climb, connecting deeply with Easter’s meaning.
This special event not only strengthens our faith but supports a great cause. This year, proceeds go to Western Carolina Rescue Ministries’ Abba’s House, aiding mothers and infants in recovery from addiction through a transformative 6-month program, all in Jesus’ name.

Make an Impact in your community.
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
At Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, we believe the words of Jesus found in Matthew 25:40, understanding that every act of kindness to the least among us is an offering to Christ Himself. Each service we provide, from a meal to a warm bed, is a testament to our commitment to serving others as if we are serving the Lord directly.
