Micheal Woods

In 2007, Micheal moved to Western North Carolina with a vision to reach Asheville with the love of God. This calling soon brought him to the Ministry where he began working as Director of Operations, caring for the city’s most vulnerable. In February 2010, he accepted the position of Executive Director and continues to lead a team dedicated to demonstrating love and compassion to the poor and homeless in a way that leads to lasting life transformation.

With a B.A. in Business Administration from East Tennessee State University and having operated his own financial planning and real estate firms, Micheal’s business and management skills are only matched by his passion for empowering men, women and children in crisis to overcome their circumstances and live the abundant lives that God intended.

Miriam Dillingham

Joining the Ministry in 2001, Miriam serves as an invaluable member of the administrative staff, bringing 27 years of experience as a small business owner to the many vital and often unseen facets of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries. In addition to assisting Micheal as he tackles the day to day challenges of leading a Rescue Ministry, Miriam faithfully manages the stewardship of the Ministry’s financial resources. Her commitment to financial integrity stems from a desire to see the Ministry fully and reliably equipped to help change lives through the love of Jesus.

Rusty Vazquez

In 2003, after managing more than 150 employees for a local plastics manufacturer, Rusty was called to put her skills to work at Western Carolina Rescue Ministries as the Director of Human Resources. Wearing many hats and always on the go, Rusty’s responsibilities include coordinating staff, volunteers and events, processing donations and oversight of services for women and children. She holds an Associates Degree in Business, is a licensed Notary, certified ServSafe instructor and member of the North Carolina Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief Meals Team. With 30 years experience in Human Resources, Accounting, and Business, Rusty is committed to using her skills to equip the Ministry and further God’s Kingdom by helping staff, clients, and volunteers realize and embrace the purposes that God has for their lives.

Jonathon Jones

Jonathon came to the Ministry in 2008. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. As his first “real” job following college, he started out as administrative support for our fundraising team. His responsibilities soon expanded to include the many facets of our fundraising efforts where he works to connect the generosity of everyday people with the needs of others in a way that demonstrates the love of God. As IT Administrator, he uses a penchant for gadgets and an aptitude for problem solving to help leverage technology for maximum ministry impact.
