Our Ministry operates through three core components – Rescue, Recovery, and Restoration – focusing on reaching individuals in crisis, treating them with respect and dignity, and guiding them towards healthy, productive lives.
Our Mission
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. As a nondenominational ministry, we meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, invest in their future, and help them until they can move forward.
We are more than a shelter.
Women’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program- ABBA’s HOuse
Provides a 6-month residential recovery program for mothers and infants, with an optional 6-month transitional stay. Ultimately, Abba’s House will equip mothers with tools for a life free from substance abuse.
Men’s Shelter
Going beyond the traditional overnight shelter, the men’s program fosters personal strength and courage. Through the offered resources and community accountability, men are guided to a productive life with a personalized Joshua plan for long-term stability.

In the heart of Western North Carolina, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has been a pillar of sanctuary and change for those battling homelessness and addiction. For over 45 years, our doors have remained open, our tables full, and our hearts ready to serve.

Give Hope This Fall/Winter
As the temperatures drop and winter approaches, the needs in our community grow. For individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hunger, and addiction, the colder months can bring additional challenges and an even greater need for warmth, shelter, meals, and compassionate care.

One of the most powerful ways to understand the impact of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries is to experience it in person. A tour allows supporters to see beyond the buildings and witness lives being transformed through shelter, recovery, case management, and the love of Christ. When you walk through our doors, meet our staff, and hear stories of hope firsthand, you gain a deeper understanding of why this mission matters. Coats for the Cold Giveaway
As temperatures begin to drop, many of our neighbors are facing the cold without the warm clothing they need. You can help make a difference!
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries is collecting coats and winter weather essentials to share with those in need at our upcoming
Coats for the Cold event on Saturday, November 7th!
Location: WCRM Driveway, 225 Patton Ave., Asheville, NC
Date: Saturday, November 7th
Time: 11:00 AM
Lunch will be provided!
Items needed include:
- Warm coats and jackets
- Hats, gloves, and scarves
- Sweatshirts and hoodies
- Warm socks
- Other winter weather essentials
Donations will also help stock our clothing closet, which serves our neighbors in need on Tuesdays and Fridays.
