We seek to provide Rescue, Recovery and Restoration in Jesus’ Name.
Our Ministry operates through three core components – Rescue, Recovery, and Restoration – focusing on reaching individuals in crisis, treating them with respect and dignity, and guiding them towards healthy, productive lives.
Our Mission
Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina. As a nondenominational ministry, we meet people in crisis, focus on helping them at the point of their need, invest in their future, and help them until they can move forward.
We are more than a shelter.

Women’s Substance Abuse Recovery Program- ABBA’s HOuse
Provides a 6-month residential recovery program for mothers and infants, with an optional 6-month transitional stay. Ultimately, Abba’s House will equip mothers with tools for a life free from substance abuse.

Men’s Shelter
Going beyond the traditional overnight shelter, the men’s program fosters personal strength and courage. Through the offered resources and community accountability, men are guided to a productive life with a personalized Joshua plan for long-term stability.
We are here to change lives.
In the heart of Western North Carolina, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has been a pillar of sanctuary and change for those battling homelessness and addiction. For over 44 years, our doors have remained open, our tables full, and our hearts ready to serve.

Double Your Impact

For more than 45 years, Western Carolina Rescue Ministries has been a place of hope for men, women, and children facing homelessness, addiction, and crisis. Through safe shelter, recovery programs, meals, and compassionate support, lives are being transformed every day.
This June, your generosity can go twice as far.
Thanks to generous supporters, all gifts up to $30,000 will be matched, for our Summer of Growing Match Campaign, meaning every gift made during the campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar until the full match is met.
Every dollar you give this summer helps provide hope, healing, and a fresh start for someone in need.
Please consider making a financial contribution today to help us continue providing these life-changing services.

Make an Impact in your community.
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
At Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, we believe the words of Jesus found in Matthew 25:40, understanding that every act of kindness to the least among us is an offering to Christ Himself. Each service we provide, from a meal to a warm bed, is a testament to our commitment to serving others as if we are serving the Lord directly.
We’re so grateful to our sponsors and partners. Thank you so much for all you do to join, support, and serve our mission.
